Traditional agencies are slow, rigid and expensive. They have high client staffing turnover, no transparency and no focus on the sales channel. They come with technology, channel and resource bias – and yet, lack specific, high-level expertise. The result is an increasing lack of trust between organizations and their agencies, and significant ad spend waste from brands looking to fill marketing gaps themselves. That needs to change.

After working together at a traditional agency from 2006-2010, and then working apart at various other traditional agencies for many more years, Mark, Jason, and Michael have joined forces once again. Only this time, to lead SMI Digital – a decidedly not-traditional agency built to bring the agile, lean processes of more forward-thinking industries to advertising. Brands and organizations have different needs, and they deserve a partner that's different, too. Their kind of different.
